Her coaching practice has included guiding executives in developing effective and efficient leadership teams, mentoring new managers and helping professionals accelerate their move to the next level. Nancy also works with Baby Boomers to help design a plan for the rest of their lives. Nancy has been particularly effective in guiding executives to identify and capitalize on their strengths and helping managers in medical, scientific and technical professions to enhance their inter-personal effectiveness. During her 20 years in the healthcare industry, both clinical and corporate, Nancy earned a reputation for blending practical business strategies with challenge and inspiration. Nancy and her staff were at the top of their industry for more than 20 years. This was accomplished by developing innovative ideas that solved problems, exponentially growing customer base and loyalty, implementing systems, improving processes and increasing sales. With her high energy approach, on-target analysis, solid recommendations and results-oriented coaching and consulting, she motivates clients and staff to achieve top-line performance and increase bottom-line results.
Nancy has extensive experience helping leaders at all levels from executive to middle managers and new supervisors to develop crucial behaviors and leadership skills. She also has managed during several mergers and acquisitions that required a blending of nationalities, cultures, people and processes.
Nancy’s clients have included Fortune 50 companies, mid-sized private & publicly held organizations, professional firms, small business owners and not-for-profit associations in healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, hospitality and higher education.
Business/Organizational Leadership Experience
Nancy’s business experience includes 17 years as an entrepreneur, founding and leading a tumor-marker testing laboratory, a speaking, training, coaching and consulting practice with international scope and teaching Baby Boomers how to live fully and fulfilled in retirement. For 11 years, Nancy was Regional Technical Manager for McDonnell Douglas Health Systems Company/bioMerieux, N.A. where she was responsible for developing and implementing customer and employee training systems and being a communication link between field technical personnel, customers and the company president. While there, Nancy created and led a new department, initiated and led the integration of a team concept into her division and managed during the rapid change associated with growing the customer base from 150 to more than 3500 world wide. Prior to that, Nancy supervised the Microbiology-Immunology Laboratory of a 350 bed hospital for ten years. While there, she was part of the leadership team that instituted a school of medical technology, prepared for initial and subsequent inspections by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and designed the microbiology and immunology sections of the new laboratory. She was also part of an inspection team that conducted laboratory certifications throughout the US.
Nancy was an adjunct professor at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH in the MBA program teaching Inter-personal Skills. She is a member of the Chapter Leadership Council of National Speakers Association, founding staff member of the Mercy Franciscan Wholistic Health Centers, is a member of the Cincinnati Regional Chamber Small Business Advisory Board, a United Way Ambassador, co-founder of the Ohio Council for Self-Esteem, Director for Women Entrepreneurs, Inc., and National Speaker’s Association Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, the Community Advisory Board for The Franciscan at West Park, Cincinnati-Kharkiv Sister Cities Project, a member of the leadership team of Youth 2000 and Executive Women’s Golf Association, Cincinnati and spiritual director of Christ Renews His Parish. She is Past President of National Speakers Association – Indiana chapter, and was named Member of the Year by NSA-I for 1999 and 2000 and Superior Performer of the Year by Ohio Speakers Forum in 1999. Nancy was also a member of President’s Advisory Council, McDonnell Douglas Health Systems Company and the Business Travelers Advisory Committee for Delta Air Lines.
Nancy is credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with International Coach Federation. Nancy’s business is a certified Women’s Business Enterprise with both the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and the City of Cincinnati.
Education and Training
Nancy earned an MBA in management from the Executive MBA Program at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Cincinnati. She also has certificates of Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, Coaching from Spirit Program, Middle Management from the University of Cincinnati and Hospital Supervisory Management, Xavier University. Nancy is a registered Medical Technologist.
Nancy is certified in DISC Personal Profile System. Her coach training includes transactional (skill building), transformational (shifting thinking) and team coaching.
Publications and Appearances
Nancy is an accomplished speaker. For the past 17 years she has given several hundred motivational and educational presentations at national and international conferences, seminars and retreats for corporate and non-profit organizations and provided continuing education classes at local universities and corporations. Nancy has authored many articles for numerous professional business publications. For 10 years Nancy has authored feature articles and the Management in Action column for The Clinical Leadership & Management Review. Nancy also authors a coaching column for an electronic publication focused on professional women.
